Project
Management Leadership Services Detailed Description:
FastStart™ – Project Planning for Success
Project Objective: To help a new
project get off and running quickly with reduced risk, higher team
productivity and a plan for success.
Scope
of Work: Our focus is on a new project, either being planned
or recently initiated. Typically, client management identifies the
project as highly important, but with limited resources or
challenging deadlines. We will assist client project leadership in
planning the project, estimating resources, analyzing risks, and
placing the proper team organization, processes and tools in place
for a higher probability of success.
Timeframe: Two to five business days, followed by progress check-points, as
needed.
Manage IT™ - Project Management
Project Objective: To effectively
lead the team and manage a project on a daily basis to achieve
planned results, while meeting schedule, budget and quality goals.
Scope
of Work: Our focus is on project planning, executing,
monitoring and status reporting. We track issues, defects, and
potential change orders and manage these items until resolution.
We will take positive corrective actions to keep the project on
track to met business objectives. To assure effective team
communication and collaboration, as well as real visibility into
the project, we assist the client in implementing an appropriate
project and process management infrastructure. This is
accomplished by selecting one or more software tools that are
integrated into the project management and project methodology. At
the conclusion of the project, we document the final project
results and review these, including lessons learned and summaries
of team member performance, with client management.
Timeframe: Based on the planned project schedule. Typical duration is four
months to one year.
TeamPlay™ – Project Review
Project Objective: To help put a
project back on track toward meeting its schedule, cost and
quality goals.
Scope of Work: Our focus is on a
project that requires assistance to meet its goals. Typically
client management identifies the project as not meeting
expectations, as well as being off schedule, budget or quality
goals. We will assist client project leadership in identifying
current roadblocks to project success, revising the project plan
and schedule, resetting customer expectations, reorganizing the
project team and taking positive actions to place the project in a
position to met business objectives.
Timeframe: Five to seven business days. Longer durations on very large
projects. Monthly check-points.
Virtual
PMO™ - Project Management Office Assistance
Project Objectives: To help senior
management cost effectively evaluate the real progress of their
portfolio of projects. Make recommendations for improving project
management processes and project execution to better meet
organizational goals. When needed, assist management in setting
and implementing improved standards, communication, knowledge
sharing and systems for successful project management and
execution.
Scope
of Work: Our focus is on either a portfolio of projects in a
specific business area of an organization or a specific set of
representative projects across different business areas. We will
review project management practices already in place and recommend
approaches to improve and standardize the PM process. As part of
our efforts, we will review project planning, risk assessment,
estimating, management approval, and scheduling techniques. We
will also review team/sponsor/management communication methods,
end-user satisfaction levels, implementation methodologies, and
the tools and technologies used to create deliverables and share
and retain knowledge.
Timeframe: Typically, an on-going process of two to five business days per
month.
